One of Canada’s leading permaculture teachers, guerilla land-artist, and botanical subversive, Oliver Kellhammer returns to Portland this Sept 30th to discuss approaches to designing resilient urban landscapes in a climatically unstable and unpredictable future. Oliver will highlight some of his attempts at”botanical re-mixing”, hacking the ecological commons, and open-source landscaping. Oliver will also discuss his climate change forest experiment on Cortes Island, and consider the necessity of planting low-maintenance ‘fedges’ and food thickets that facilitate urban foraging and food democracy.
Join us for this and much more!
